Parents and Teachers

Elmsford Union School District

Greetings,

We had a great October PTA meeting, the following is part of a message we sent to all leaders who attended that meeting:

“On behalf of the PTA team, I wanted to express our sincere thanks, for your time, effort and for going the extra miles for our children. I think it was a fabulous night, in our second PTA meeting we had great presentations, debate, everybody was able to express their concerns, your thoughts; I saw a lot of comradely and teamwork.

It makes us feel good, knowing that the PTA can help support these programs. Just motivates us, and ensures our strong commitment that we will go out and do whatever it is necessary to obtain more resources for our district. You have to see your happy faces, great! (Even at 9:00pm)…”. We were able to support several programs, we are looking forward to having more of this type of meetings.

We continue working for the following events:

Reflection Program: Teachers and student are gearing up for these years theme which is “Beauty is…”, all necessary information and links are in this web site, the deadline is November the 20th.

Book Fair: Grady and Dixson, from Nov 19 to the 25th. While there are many parents who volunteered to help, we still need a leader to help with it; currently, the person who is leading the process, will not be available attend those days, we know there must be a leader who can give us a hand; you are not gong to be alone!

Booster Club: If you have not visited our hamburger stand during our Volleyball games, no problem, we are moving with Elmsford Classic Day, which will be around December 15; days to be confirmed; great opportunity to try them, plus home made cookies, brownies etc, lots of food and lots of fun.

The Soccer boy’s club lost on November 3rd in the sectional tournament, they lost through sudden death format, some players let their tears go, but we lost a game, your spirit remains high, Go Raiders! We wish luck to our Volleyball team they play the fifth, and our Athletic team is staring to warm up for the winter season…

ESL Classes: We have a program in Grady that has been running for 4 years, Mondays and Wednesday form  6:00 to 9:00pm, let your friends know, your neighbors, help us make this program known, contact us at 917-596-8646.

If you want to help, go to volunteer area in this website, we will see you on November 19th.

Thank you.
